Don't let a Massachusetts Assault Charge Ruin your life!

Massachusetts Law - Assault and Battery Charge & Penalties

Being arrested on a Massachusetts Assault charge is a difficult and often humiliating experience, and I sympathize with what you've been through. But there is a good chance that I can help you fix this and get back to your life.

Assault and Battery is a serious criminal charge, and Massachusetts Assault Laws carry a penalty of a maximum sentence of 2 1/2 years in jail and a fine of $1000 if you are found guilty. The penalties for assault are even more serious if a weapon is used (assault with a dangerous weapon), if it is an assault on a minor child under 14, an assault on a public safety official, and many other variations with regard to intent, and whether you are charged with a misdemeanor or a felony. If you are facing a domestic assault charge, the DA is going to be much less willing to negotiate or drop the charges, so you'll need a skilled criminal defense lawyer to protect your rights as soon as possible

For more info on those specific cases, see my Massachusetts Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Massachusetts Domestic Assault pages.

If you are charged with assault in Massachusetts, you need an experienced MA criminal attorney to work with you and protect your rights, whether you intent to fight the charges at trial, or simply want to negotiate the best possible deal with the DA.

How to Beat Your Assault Charge

MA Assault & Battery Defense Strategies

I can tell you that I've successfully defended many clients facing assault and battery charges. There are a variety of legal strategies I will employ to defend my clients rights. For example, in cases of misdemeanor assault, it's possible to get the case remanded to a clerk's hearing, where there is an opportunity to have the case voided entirely.

I am always prepared to file a full range of motions to dismiss, or motions to suppress the evidence against you on legal and constitutional grounds. The motions I will file depend on the specific facts of your case.

It also may be possible to get the charges dropped, and get the other person to drop the complain in exchange for certain concession, anger management classes, or other deals that you can live with.

When we talk, I'll go over the police report with you, and I'll give you my honest opinion about your case and your chances in beating it. You'll get the benefit of my years of criminal defense experience helping people just like you. I'll tell you upfront how good I think your case is, and what I can do to fight for you. And I'll do all this for free, and with absolutely no obligation.
