Television Show Boston Legal.
Massachusetts Defense Attorney Elliot Savitz, a recognized

of the television show "Boston Legal", to help establish an
authentic feel in a particular scene. In the episode first aired
on February 7, 2006, entitled "Breast in Show", attorney
Savitz was consulted on how the defense attorney character would handle the direct
examination and cross examination, and the theory of the case.
"I provided the producers with input into what the defendant
would be realistically be charged with (indecent exposure), as well as
some guidance as to how an experienced defense attorney would cross
examine the state's witness, and direct examination of the
defendant." The producers of the show wanted to make every effort
to make the scene as "authentic as possible", Savitz added,
so it makes sense that they would call a local Boston defense attorney
for help with the specifics of Massachusetts criminal law, and court
procedures. Attorney Savitz also provided input into the attorney's
closing argument. "Overall, I think the episode and the
scene were very well done", Savitz said. "I was impressed
that it was realistically portrayed, which is certainly not always the
case on television. The producers clearly went to some extra effort to
make it so, and I was pleased to offer my advice as assistance."
